So... It's Been Two Months

If you've been following along, you may have noticed something missing lately.
My blog.
Or maybe you didn't. And if that's the case, we're all just going to pretend this is right on schedule.
The truth is, it's been about two months since I've sat down to write. Every year, I tell myself I'll stay ahead on content, keep a consistent schedule, and have blog posts neatly planned out weeks in advance.
Every year, real life laughs at those plans. This time of year is busy for everyone. School ends. Summer begins. Calendars fill up. There are graduations, vacations, yard projects, community events, and those ever-growing "honey-do" lists that somehow multiply overnight. Add in summer bucket lists, family commitments, and trying to remember whether you've watered the plants lately, and suddenly June arrives wondering what happened to May.
For me, the past two months have been filled with clients.
Listing appointments.
Buyer showings.
Marketing homes.
Networking events.
Contract negotiations.
Inspections.
Closing days.
Repeat.
And honestly? That's exactly where my attention should be.
One of the questions I asked myself before writing this was whether I should acknowledge the gap or just jump back in like nothing happened. Should I pretend I've been posting regularly all along?
Should I quietly publish something and hope nobody notices?
Is anyone even reading this?
(Let's not answer that last question.)
But I think most of us know how life works. Sometimes the things we enjoy get pushed to the back burner—not because they aren't important, but because something else needs us more in that moment.
The reality is that I don't have a marketing team. There isn't a content department behind Amy On The Move. There isn't a social media manager scheduling posts while I sip coffee and brainstorm catchy headlines. It's just me. The same person writing this blog is also the person answering client calls, scheduling showings, creating marketing materials, coordinating transactions, attending networking events, and occasionally trying to remember what's for dinner. And while I genuinely enjoy the quiet time that comes with writing and reflecting, I also absolutely love the busy.
I love sitting at a kitchen table hearing someone's story and helping them figure out their next move.
I love opening the door to a house and watching buyers realize, "This might be the one."
I love helping sellers prepare their homes for the market and seeing all their hard work pay off.
I love celebrating closing days, even after the hundredth signature.
I love hearing from past clients who call months—or years—later because they're ready for the next chapter.
The last two months have been full of those moments. There have been miles driven across Stillwater, countless cups of coffee consumed, more phone calls than I could ever count, and plenty of evenings where I looked at my computer and thought, "I'll write that blog tomorrow." Tomorrow eventually turned into two months. But that's okay.
Because while the blog was quiet, business wasn't. More importantly, relationships weren't...and they still aren't but I just had to take a moment to reflect on the thanks I have for that.
I am incredibly grateful.
One of the greatest gifts of this career is that no two days look the same. Some seasons are slower and filled with planning, writing, and preparing. Other seasons are packed with helping people make big decisions and navigate major life changes. This season has been the latter...and remains to be.
So in case you're wondering, I've been out doing the thing I love most: helping people move.
Moving to Stillwater.
Moving within Stillwater.
Moving on to the next chapter of life.
And while I may occasionally disappear from the blog for a few weeks (or apparently a couple of months), I'll always come back. Because like anything else in life, you don't wait for perfect timing.
You just jump back in and get to it. So consider this my official return.
I've missed this space.
I've missed the writing.
I've missed the chance to share what's happening in real estate, in Stillwater, and in this little corner of life called Amy On The Move.
And if you've stuck around while I was busy helping clients, thank you.
I'm glad you're here. Now let's catch up.
